Why Are We Launching Kyloe?

At Kyloe, we are building world-class turnkey customer engagement solutions for the asset management industry, and we’re building on the Salesforce platform. In our early discussions with prospective partners and clients, we were commonly asked why? — particularly by those who know our history building successful consulting firms. Why build products? Why this platform? Why the asset management industry?

We feel that the industry is currently under-served by solutions, despite many success stories.

It’s not that the success stories are not genuine. They are — and we have played our own part in them — but we strongly believe that the bar could be set much higher, and we are very excited to start raising it.

We are passionate about both the industry and the technology and we believe that we can bring value to the market. But there are a few specific reasons worth mentioning:

1. We Enjoy Building Products

When we started Redkite 10 years ago, one of our original ideas was actually to do something very similar to Kyloe, but we decided at that point to pursue a different path, building bespoke solutions for financial services firms. Even then, we differentiated ourselves by taking a product-management approach to building bespoke solutions — we always asked ourselves: “if we had to sell this solution as a product, would the market buy it? What would we build if we didn't have the budget and time constraints of traditional custom implementations”? This was a good way of ensuring the best possible solutions, but we were often frustrated that we couldn’t go all the way.

2. We Can Build Better Solutions

When building bespoke solutions, there are always design aspirations that are just too expensive to justify. These can be genuinely valuable features. But every custom implementation has budget and timeline constraints, and these items tend to fall out of scope. Now, we can build these features because we’re going to build them once, and implement them across multiple firms - a basic economy of scale.

Also, bespoke solutions often get things wrong - this is a complex industry and it takes experience of applying a solution many times over to hone it into the best possible design.

As Kyloe, we can build solutions without compromise.

3. Industry Providers & Fintechs Struggle To Provide The Answers

There are many reasons this is true:

  1. Designing customer engagement solutions is not the core business of an industry provider, so why would we expect their solutions to be world class?

  2. Building robust, re-usable Salesforce integrations is complex and expensive. This is a barrier to many providers building integrations. And for those who do, it tends to lead to corner cutting. Kyloe will work with providers to build fully-featured integrations.

  3. It is practically impossible for industry providers to design integrations that play well with others. As a third-party, we can help solve this by working with the providers to integrate into a standardized model.

4. Putting the Band Back Together

We had a truly great team at Redkite. We are excited that in this journey we are sure to cross paths with many of the same people who made the Redkite experience special. (We will also need new people. If you are passionate about the same things we are, please let us know).
